Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina resigned and left the country, accompanied by her sister.

Awami League president Sheikh Hasina departed the country with her sister following her resignation. At approximately 2:30 p.m. on Monday, Sheikh Hasina and her younger sister, Sheikh Rehana, boarded a military helicopter from Bangabhaban.

Sources indicate that they flew to India, landing in Agartala, a city in northeastern India. They then traveled to the Indian Air Force's Hindon Air Base near Delhi, arriving around 5:30 p.m. on Monday, according to the Times of India.

Anandabazar, a prominent daily from Upper Bengal, reported that Sheikh Hasina did not request political asylum in India, fueling speculation about her next destination. According to sources, Sheikh Hasina is expected to travel to London, the capital of the United Kingdom.
